On the Stage

THE ROCKY HORROR
PICTURE SHOW

I had a blast playing Dr. Frank-N-Furter in this fully ASL production done in a "midnight movie" style, complete with audience interaction.

CABARET

Garrett played the Deaf half of the dual Emcees in this production at Phamaly Theatre Company in Denver, Colorado

POLICE DEAF NEAR FAR

This collaboration between Terp Theatre and Oakland University was an thoroughly memorable experience, not to mention a tremendous honor to share the stage with fellow Deaf actor Daniel Durant (Switched at Birth, Broadway's SPRING AWAKENING)

Children of a Lesser God

In the summer of 2007, I played Orin in two back-to-back productions, first at the Rubicon in Ventura, California and then at the Lyceum in Arrow Rock, Missouri.

The Fantasticks

Garrett has performed the role of the Mute twice so far in his career: once at the Skylight Opera in Milwaukee - music directed by Richard Carsey, now a Broadway conductor - and again at one of the most beautifully serene places in the world: the Arrow Rock Lyceum in Missouri.

Runaways

Garrett was honored to step into Bruce Hlibok's legendary shoes to play the role of Hubbell in this Joe's Pub concert event produced by Jamie McGonnigal and directed by Rodney Hicks (RENT, THE SCOTTSBORO BOYS, COME FROM AWAY), attended by original creator Elizabeth Swados. This was the "Wet Hot American Summer" of concerts: nearly everyone in the show later went on to hit it big, including Tony nominee Alex Brightman (Broadway's SCHOOL OF ROCK), Ezra Miller (Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them We Need to Talk About Kevin, Justice League), Max Jenkins (The Mysteries of Laura), and Karla Mosley (The Bold and the Beautiful).

POPULATION: 8

After doing the reading the year before, Garrett was invited to be a part of this production in the NYC Fringe Festival in the summer of 2009 about the close-knit residents of a tiny town. Written by Nicholas Gray and directed by Marc Stuart Weitz, the cast included Gideon Glick (SPRING AWAKENING, SPIDERMAN: TURN OFF THE DARK), Kathryn Kates (Seinfeld, Orange is the New Black), and Dana Berger (Orange is the New Black).
